How Do I Use Mounjaro?

Mounjaro is administered through a weekly subcutaneous injection. Choose upper arms, stomach or upper legs (keep a 5 cm distance from your belly button). It's important not to inject into a vein or muscle. For further information on how to administer Mounjaro, please refer to the patient information leaflet.

What If My Pen Is Not Working?

The most common reason for pen malfunctions is incorrect usage. If you have followed the step-by-step guide on proper pen usage and find that it is still not working, please feel free to contact our team for assistance.

My Mounjaro Arrived Late; Is This Okay?

Please do not worry if your parcel has arrived later than expected. If your package does arrive late, feel free to get in touch with us to discuss whether the medication is still suitable for use. Switching from Wegovy to Mounjaro?

As both Wegovy and Mounjaro contain different active ingredients, a ‘washout’ period is necessary between treatments.  For patients on 0.25mg/0.5mg Wegovy:

A 2 week 'washout period' is required after finishing your Wegovy treatment before starting Mounjaro.

For patients on 1mg/1.7mg/2.4mg: A 4 week 'washout period' is required after finishing your Wegovy treatment before starting Mounjaro.

What Side Effects Should I Look Out For?

Common or very common side effects primarily include gastrointestinal issues such as:

- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Constipation
- Diarrhea
- Heartburn/Reflux
- Abdominal (Stomach) Pain

Identifying and Troubleshooting Needle Misalignment in Mounjaro Pens

1. Needle Still Attached, Plunger Won't Actuate:

• ‍Action: Remove the needle and inspect the internal needle.
• ‍Check: If the internal needle is bent, not centered, or straight, it indicates an alignment issue.

2. Inspecting the Rubber Disk Cap:

• Bulged/Ballooned Cap:
  - Diagnosis: The patient has pressed the plunger without the needle being correctly attached, causing pressurization of the liquid in the pen.

• Flat but Unbroken Cap:
  - Diagnosis: The patient has not yet pressed the plunger.
  ‍
• Broken Cap:
  - Diagnosis: The patient has pressed the plunger vigorously without proper needle attachment, bursting the pen.

3. Issues After Successful Initial Dose:
